## How it Works - Basic Concept

National Stability is a variable ranging from -500 upward to the value required to advance by +1 stability (the base value for gain is 500 but is adjusted by any modifier that would normally change stability cost in vanilla). Reaching -500 will result in -1 stability while reaching the threshold will result in +1 stability. The current National Stability and the threshold are displayed

## Positive Stability Factors

- 2.00 per month if Stability is less than -2
- 1.50 per month if Stability is less than -1
- 1.00 per month if Stability is less than 0
- 1.25 per month if Stability is less than 1 (does not apply to Nomad tech)
- 0.75 per month if Stability is less than 2 (does not apply to Nomad tech)
- 0.5 per month if Stability is less than 3 (does not apply to Nomad tech)
- 2.50 per month when running the Domestic Tranquility policy
- 0.60 per month with less than 6 cities and Stability is less than 2
- 1.0 per month multiplied by the percentage of provinces that have a Sheriff's Office in their state
- 1.5 per month multiplied by the percentage of provinces that have a Courthousein their state
- 2.0 per month multiplied by the percentage of provinces that have a Governor's Palace in their state
- Provinces in your capital state are counted in one of the three above based on the highest building you've unlocked

- 0.25 per month if at war with at least 10% Warscore (doubled for nomads)"

## Negative Stability Factors

- -0.50 per month if at war with less than -10% Warscore (-0.75 for nomads)
- -1.00 per month if at war with less than -25% Warscore (-1.5 for nomads)
- -0.50 per month if any state province has at least 5 Unrest
- -0.50 per month if any state province has at least 10 Unrest
- -2.50 per month if at least 3 state provinces have 10+ Unrest
- -0.50 per month if any state province has at least 15 Unrest
- -1.00 per month if at least 3 state provinces have 15+ Unrest
- -0.50 per month if at least 3 provinces anywhere have 10+ Unrest
- -0.50 per month if at least 3 provinces anywhere have 15+ Unrest
- -150.00 when getting a new ruler while Legitimacy is less than 40 (Monarchy only)
- -100 when entering a regency"

## Stability and Conquered Provinces

National Stability undergoes a one-time change when a new province is conquered based on the following:

- BASE LOSS:
- 100 Standard loss
- -40 Core province
- -20 Permanent claim
- -20 Same culture
- -10 Same culture group (but not culture)
- -15 Same religion
- -5 Same religious group (but not religion)

The BASE LOSS is then multiplied by a factor based on development:

- STABILITY LOSS = BASE LOSS X PROVINCE DEVELOPMENT / (TOTAL DEVELOPMENT X 10)
- This results that a province representing 10% of your total development gives the base loss value
